Alas, back to our protagonists

How was this story arc? Let me know in the comments :O In terms of writting, I tried a thing or two that I haven't done before.

I loved it!

I'd love to see more little side stories like this! Wonderful! It really sent me on an emotional roller coaster!

The arc didn't have enough Chad. And when Chad wasn't on screen, there were no characters going "Where is Chad?"

October 1st, 2018, 10:06 pm

Gucchi stuff, Kenno.

Can't wait for the shenanigans, and quite possibly some more side arcs. :D

i liked the more somber tone

this arc was definitely one that reaffirms how isolated the hybrids still are while also showing off some unique talents and ways of navigating the human dominated world. i loved the new characters and the answer to "what became of alpha". i would like to see another like this in the future and maybe even get a look at what alpha has been up to once you get to that point. as always i love this comic and it remains the highlight of my Mondays. keep letting us live your dream Kenno, we appreciate you.

It was great!

Those emotions, those events...
I loved how controversial you made it. It shows how deep the emotional impact goes. Would lvoe to see such things just as much as the regular comic part. A wonderful addition to the mix

I think

this ark was really good. It give us different point of view and more insight in live of the hybrids girls. I'm curious about change of style in last two pages. What was the reason behind it?

October 2nd, 2018, 4:14 am

@Guest: I still think Alpha will end up at the Chad again :P

October 2nd, 2018, 7:10 am

@Guest: More Chad would be nice. He's no Mickey, but he's pretty cool. Saying that nobody can match the majesty of Mickey anyways

October 2nd, 2018, 7:37 am

Nice arc!

As for the wedding let Alpha also get the message ^^. Is kidnapping the bride-to-be a thing over there?
Maybe Al catches up and sets Alphas head straight ^^...

Goodbye sword

October 2nd, 2018, 12:41 pm

@Patches: If this were a JRPG, a protagonist would find it and reforge it all to kill satangodhitlerjesusbhudda or something ridiculous.

thoughts about the arc

It got better towards the end. One of my complaints is that it introduced too many new characters and new settings too suddenly. Idk about others but I was having a little difficulty keeping up with all the new animal chicks and their names.

The only character we knew beforehand was Alpha (a secondary character), and at the time all we knew about her was that she's violent, impulsive, and got kicked out from the Den. She wasn't a very good lead to start off the new sidestory with.

Going back to the new gang, I really liked all their designs. The new special quirks that were introduced (glowing/binocular owl eyes, October's disguises) I thought were really neat and I hope we haven't yet seen all of their tricks.

And another thing: spelling. I know some people don't mind at all, and I wouldn't know what it is to maintain a webcomic of this quality every week, but damn, the occasional misspelling broke the immersion quite a few times. The difference between 'tho' and 'though' may seem small but it just doesn't have a place in consistent writing.

Ah yes, the wedding. Fel and the gang. That reminds me. I feel that, lately, they've been having too many happy times for far too long.

**Something bad needs to happen.**

We need a sudden surge of harsh, crippling reality. Al's circle of friends has gone through so much happy-go-lucky healing and wholesome bonding that it's starting to become a little bland and unrealistic (as ironic as it is to talk about a furry webcomic being "realistic" ).

We need some tragedy in here! And when I say tragedy, I don't mean the "boo-hoo X hybrid broke up with Y hybrid" stuff, I mean HOLY SHIT WE'RE GETTING ANALLY AMBUSHED BY SATAN!! Hell, I'd settle for some tragic news from Dr. Duerf about being chased by the government again or something about hybrids dying because of some random biology shit.

Great stuff, Kenno. Sorry for spitting out this wall of text, I just call em as I see em

Ledge, i disagree somewhat.

i don't really have much of a problem with the infrequent misspellings as i understand that translating from one language to another is taxing.
while i too had to keep back reading to figure out who all the new girls were (im just bad with names), i did love their characters. all of them seem like the tough loners that can't mesh well in large groups. hell the only reasons they are together is because thats how they were trained to survive... and they have lost most of their family.
as for the wedding and the need for more tragedy... this is where i really disagree. im sure Kenno has ideas to bring more combat, action, comedy and so on into the main story...BUT, the story is so good not only because of the wacky premise or the fun cooky characters or the weird situations that mix real life with fantasy. the real gem of this story is the suffering that has already happened. the deep inner tragedy that each character is seen going through even in the middle of light hearted panels. the PTSD and nightmares and soul shattering heart wrenching loss that is sprinkled throughout is masterfully done.
i for one am always looking forward to reading the natural progression of the story however Kenno writes it. there is little need for more action in a story like this because his few glimpses into the hybrids past let you fill in all the cool things you want the characters to do.

@lazyrain11: Agreed. Let the story grow organically. Good job Kenno!

October 5th, 2018, 12:36 pm

english is hard

aaaaaaa i don't know the minutia of the english language. Such as that writting tho and though was wrong D: Figures like that don't exist in Spanish afaik so what I consider "okay" is definitely different once it translates. As usual, if you see mistakes like those, LET ME KNOW CUZ THEY ABSOLUTELY FLY OVER MY HEAD x_x

October 5th, 2018, 9:08 pm

@lazyrain11: I am looking more towards tragedy/action in the future than the tragedy that's already happened and the PTSD and stuff but part of why I think that is because I believe that the hybrids can't hide forever. *Something* must have leaked out during all this time and we've already seen instances of it happening (Al's parents seeing Fel and the kid who saw Mugger rescuing Deniz). The hybrids can only stay safe inside their Den for so long. Somebody must be watching, somebody must be planning something.

The other part of why I think this is because I may have a certain aversion to super cutesy and over-the-top wholesome moments and friendship between characters for too long. So my natural reaction is wanting something to interrupt that lmao (kind of like how when we see kittens for example, our brains are overloaded with cute thoughts so it tries to balance that out with destructive ones).

I guess I also wanted to say that we need an antagonist. I love me one of those. Nice and evil and schemey.

been awhile since i caught up.., so far so good..,

October 5th, 2018, 9:10 pm

Also, Kenno, will do. Glad to know you're on it.

October 6th, 2018, 4:28 am

Sword or sickle

That was the sword? It looks here like a scythe.
I remember it was shoot to bend in one place, and here it was bend in 2 places.
Also, if it is a samurai sword, they do not usually bend. European sword bend, samurai swords breaks.

I also agree with lazyrain.
There are other comics full of tragedy and pain, ledge, if that is your thing.
I don't read them. I once stumbled upon them, regret it everyday.
I read this, because the tragedy already happened and it's now focusing on getting on with their lives and I hope there won't be any big tragedy here. I really like this comic and I hope it will stay as lighthearther with ocassional sad moment as it is now.
I'm looking forward to next episodes.

October 6th, 2018, 4:02 pm

Sorry. October and her tiddies are the protagonists of this comic now!

October 7th, 2018, 7:38 am

It was fun.

Alpha playing secondary protagonist for awhile could easily be used as the action part of the story,or slowly introducing us to it.I'm glad she's getting some love, and I thought it was introduced pretty organically. It didn't feel forced or out of nowhere. (even though it was a surprise.) The characters were fine to me,since I re-read webcomics throughout the day,so I remember their names.I didn't think the beach Arc would go in that direction at all.You can introduce a conflict now with the Hybrids if you wanted to go in that direction. It's a lot of things you can do now.I hope to see more with Chad and his relationship with Alpha, but this time you can make it a slow burn if you want to.Since Alpha doesn't seem the type to just start dating someone out of nowhere.Should make for some fun and interesting stories.

Keep doing what you think is best for the comic, and most importantly have fun with it.

I really did like the way you kinda tricked us into thinking it was ending, but it went in a completely different direction.
If you could find ways to do more of that, that would be really cool.

I will miss that bad ass sword tho.

A fantastic shift in focus

Loved the story arc, the tone and events were a welcome change from the usual -- though I'm still happy to get back to our main crew!
